Switching from a fifth wheel hitch to this gooseneck-style pin box clears up your truck bed when you’re not towing. The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box replaces the factory Lippert Rhino box and connects directly to a 2-5/16" ball. Rated for 24,000 lbs towing and a 2,500–4,500 lb pin weight, it keeps your setup strong while freeing you from bulky hitch hardware.

This pin box uses an internal torsion system to dampen rough motion between the trailer and truck. Steel inner bars twist inside rubber-cabled tubes to absorb jarring road shock and fore-and-aft chucking. The result is a steadier ride that reduces bounce and limits impact transfer both ways—without any air bags to maintain or small parts to replace.
Hitching doesn’t get easier than this. The auto-latch design locks onto the ball the moment it seats in the coupler—no climbing into the bed or wrestling with handles. When it’s time to unhook, just pull the included release cable routed up your trailer frame to disengage the latch from outside the bed.

The Gen-Y box is built from heavy-duty steel and finished with a durable powder coat that resists wear and corrosion. It bolts on using your existing hardware, so installation is straightforward with no extra parts or modifications needed.
Created specifically to replace Lippert Rhino pin boxes, this model’s 24K GTW and 4.5K TW rating give it the correct capacity for mid-to-heavy fifth wheels within that weight range. Keeping your pin weight within spec ensures the torsion absorption works as intended for safer, smoother towing mile after mile.

1 year and about 5,000mi. later, Im still very happy with my GenY. Pulling my 5th wheel is so smooth. Ive been down some rough dirt roads but with this hitch I hardly felt the bumps. Chugging is almost nonexistent to the point where one could almost imagine that our freeways are as good as new. Lol Even after a 12hour haul my back is still happy. For me, the GenY is definitely a great addition, and my truck bed is still usable.
My hitch arrived earlier than expected and the process was excellent. I haven't gotten it put on yet but will on Monday. So far it's good to have good people from e-trailer living up to their promises. I'll continue to go back again and again.
I would recommend that to everybody no chucking no problems at all
No denying the gooseneck pin box is stout. But I was a little disappointed in the quality control. Mine showed up on a pallet without a box and it was FULL of welding slag beads that ended up all over my driveway , it also had been sitting against the gooseneck ball mount box and has a few wear spots. Sucks to have wear marks/ scratches on a brand new $1700 hitch.
Love this hitch! I’ve never pulled a 5th wheel before so I don’t have a comparison. However, the Gen Y hitch tows very smoothly with very little chucking… if any. It took a few hookups to learn the process but now it is SO easy to hook up/unhook.
Also, working with Lauren was easy and reassuring as far as getting what was needed, when it was needed.
Great hitch got everything to do change out, customer service was great
Very good service. Delivered on time. Great experience.

That is great to hear, and it looks great installed! What trailer did you install this on?
I believe the hitch is okay but this is how it arrived.
Shipping was fast and packaged well. Installed on 2025 Brinkley Z3100 going on 2022 Ram 3500 SRW short bed. Used a Curt multi-fit goose ball into factory puck system.
With Gen Y mounted in top most Rhino box hole (see photo). I have about 10.5” of bed rail clearance and turn almost 90 degrees.
Only took a short 50 mile test ride down a know bucking road. The ride is very much improved and should get better with a good break in trip.
BTW I thought I could buy grade 8 bolts locally, but they ended up more expensive than the ones etrailer sells.
This was advertised as used but it looked brand new to me. Estes took a while on the shipping. It arrived 50 miles from my house and was delivered 6 days later. Great product though. Campers should just come with these and skip the 5th wheels
The flexibility definitely reduces bounce and rattle. Watching it from the rear view mirror, I can see that it's working. I think it's worth the $1,000 upgrade from the fixed Nomad hitch. Now I have to decide whether or not to buy the $99 warranty on the flex components. With the condition of these roads , It's getting a lot of action.
Do you have a question about this 5th Wheel Gooseneck Adapter?
